Friday Follies: Archie Gay Marriage Issue Sells Out, Dianna Agron Will Host GLAAD Awards in San Francisco

Happy Friday, bois & grrlz! If it's as grey and dreary where you are as it is here in NYC, you may need a little spring cheer to send you off to your weekend right-- and luckily, we have just the thing to put a smile on your little gaymo face:

First, the whole Archie gay marriage issue brouhaha. Seems that the attempted boycott lead by the American Family Association and allied groups only served to increase sales, and the issue has since completely sold out. Oh, the horror this obscene and traumatizing image will inflict on the innocent childrens!!! My favorite response to the whole "how will we ever explain this to our kids" panic comes from a British mama commenting on The Guardian's report:

Yep. It's official-- gay marriage is wholesome now. Thx, Archie, Jughead, and the whole cartoon gang! I can't wait for the day when there's a gay Disney princess.

Speaking of girls who should be immortalized as fairy tale princesses for all time, we got the news today that our most favoritest Glee girl ever, Dianna Agron, will be hosting the GLAAD Media Awards in her hometown of San Francisco. This news comes just two days after the announcement that Naya and Cory would be hosting the GLAAD Awards here in NYC; at which point I said to myself, "Do I wanna get a press pass for this hot mess? Nah, it'll be such a zoo, I don't need the headache. It would only be worth it if Dianna was hosting." If only the city by the bay were a little closer to NYC...!

Everyone 'round these parts knows that I worship and adore Lady Di above all other gleeks; and I'm certainly not the only one. Between her side gigs directing music vids for worthy charities, her interactive arts site built for the love of her fans, and her (in)famous lesbionic debacle last summer that has affectionately come to be known as t-shirtgate, the sweet and softspoken Jewish hipster from the bay has certainly come a long way from her original image as Quinn Fabray, repressed head cheerleader and celibacy club president. Whether she's simply an outspoken ally, or secretly a sneaky gay as some suspect, there's no question Ms. Agron continues to do her share for the cause of equality. Check out this painfully adorable vid she posted to thank her fans for all the cash they donated to the Trevor Project in honor of her birthday!

If this doesn't make you smile, you are officially dead inside. Happy weekending, dear ones!
