Glee’s Dianna Agron Directs Indie Music Vid for Oxfam America

Just as Miss Julia worships at the altar of Gaga, and Kelly gets gooey over Brandi Carlile, I have my own Junior High style obsession with Dianna Agron, aka Quinn Fabray, knocked up cheerleader from Glee.

Not only is she easy on the eyes (AfterEllen’s Hot 100 agrees with me on this one), she also happens to be a completely awesome human being of the vegan-do-gooder/indie-artist variety. In the last year, she’s hosted a music festival supporting 826LA (a branch of the English tutoring program founded by author Dave Eggers), tweeted incessantly about the importance of adopting shelter pets, and sold her first screenplay, all while putting in 12 to 16 hour days making a little show called Glee.

Oh, and she also directs indie music videos, like this one here. Made with Bay Area buddies Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, this tasty little tidbit isn’t just art for art’s sake (as if that would be bad) — nope, this one is for Oxfam America’s campaign for an aggressive, comprehensive climate change bill in 2010. Yep. She really is that awesome. Now go check it out!

Oh no! Oh no! hahaaaa. Dave

Oh no! Oh no! hahaaaa. Dave Eggers is Emma and I's running joke for what douchebags read! And I think it's how I fell in love with her... we were at a hipstery show, playing a game of "try to guess what the pretending to be literary guy taking money at the door is reading". I said Camus, which I though was a great answer but when she said Eggers I knew I'd been topped! And that I'd met the man I was going to marry!

Jenny, way to go with a great post. I especially like the way you've structured this.

whoops, that was supposed to be a reply, not a new comment.

cheers :)

well thank you miss cage. yeah, I know that eggers skirts the hipster line rather precariously...but I do genuinely enjoy his work, despite the unfortunate tendency of (some of) his readers to be affected little irony-addicted posers who should all be carted off to urban outfitters for life. aside from which, I'm sure no one is anti-inner-city-tutoring-programs, right?

...and I've been telling grace she should do something about the reply-to-comment vs. new comment glitch! no worries Wink

Oh, carted off to urban outfiters for life! Nice turn of phrase in this here reply, lady!

The tutoring programs are admirable AND he did bring my love and I together in bonding over our mutual disdain for Egger's end of the kiddie pool, so I owe him a nod at least.

bonding through disdain...nothing hipster-ish about that ;)

well I suppose in this case mr. eggers will have to take what props he can get from you and the prof. I think that  means I have to give hitler a nod, too, because he (inadvertently, I'm sure) brought me and my first girlfriend together in 10th grade...we were seated next to each other in european history, studying WWII, and she (a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, straight-up aryan youth prototype) turned to me (a dark-skinned, dark-haired Jewish princess) and said, without a hint of irony, "I wonder if my ancestors murdered your ancestors?"

Then we went to French class and read Camus. In French. Oh, wait... ;p

thanx kel! I agree, dave eggers totally rocks my socks. and actually, this little gem is just the tip of the iceberg of awesomeness that is lady di. she's the perfect storm of music/art/literary geekdom that makes me all melty...and I love that she's using her glee fame for all these positive, progressive causes! she's like my high school gf, but without all the angst. glad you approve Smile
