Lea Michele thinks Brittana's relationship has had equal screen time with Finchel

One more week 'till Glee returns to the airwaves, and as some gleeful spoilers abound featuring Kurt, Blaine, the meerkat-faced Sebastian Smythe, and a possible mean-girl rivalry between said meerkat and one Santana Lopez, those continuing to send their prayers to Grilled Cheezus for a real Brittana kiss in the near future will probably still be disappointed.

Not only have the writers themselves expressed some rather nasty sass to disappointed Brittana fans on Twitter; and not only has the entire creative team at Fox apparently decided that every episode must have a male hero at the center (even when the episode centers on a teen lesbian's coming out story), now even some of the stalwart and generally well-loved cast are abandoning the USS Brittana as well.

"I feel like we've given — I feel Brittany and Santana have just done as much as Finn and Rachel have, to be honest with you," Michele told AfterEllen at the recent Fox TCA party. "I mean, hello!"

Um, hello? You've just pissed off a whole lotta fans out there in TVland, Lea. I know you're a very busy girl and you may not have time to tally up Brittana kisses as compared with Finchel kisses in every episode; and frankly I don't have time for that either. So to make both our lives a little easier, here's a very brief survey of Finn and Rachel's on-screen kisses in the last two and half seasons:

Hello, Lea. How's the view from over there in haterville? You're almost making me regret the $13.50 I spent to see you being all grown-up adorable in New Year's Eve.

Are you still tuning in to Glee these days, bois & grrlz? Or has the turbulent, hot-and-cold treatment of the Brittana relationship left you looking for your gay teen TV fix elsewheres?

I'm still watching because it

I'm still watching because it comes before Raising Hope. And let's be honest, RH is still the funniest thing on TV. Love, love, love everything about it.

Screen time or face (ie;

Screen time or face (ie; kissing) time? While there is definite inequality either way, the inequality is greater if we're talking about kissing. Obviously, since Brittana have never kissed but at least there has been talk & displays of affection.

Okay, forget it. It's totally unbalanced.

yeah, ambiguous in any case

her actual comment is a little ambiguous-- "Brittany and Santana have just done as much as Finn and Rachel have"-- that could be taken a lot of different ways. But as you point out, Robin, no matter how you take it, there's no comparison, it's just not true. And that added "I mean, hello!" just adds insult to injury. Major bummer to see someone as beloved and generally outspoken on LGBT issues be so flippant. But maybe she was just having a crappy day. You know what they say in People magazine-- celebreties-- they're just like us! Wink
