Super Bowl XLIV: Clash of the Titans *Viewing Party*

A clash of epic proportions is happening today. The titans of the Gridiron will be facing off in a game sure to go down in sports history. For the New Orleans Saints this could be the emotional boost their city deserves, while the Indianapolis Colts could cement their legacy in NFL history. Here's my analysis:

For the Colts to Win

This isn't foreign territory for the Colts. They were here in Miami three years ago playing for the same title against the Chicago Bears (with the Colts winning 29-17 over Chicago). In the end, I think experience matters. The Colts can perform under pressure and have the know-how to take home another championship.

Colts QB Peyton Manning

It may sound simple, but Peyton Manning has to spread the ball around. Going to his favorites could spell trouble. While the Colts have just barely edged out the Saints in passing yards they should stick to what they know and charge down the field on the shoulders of Manning.

The offensive line should watch out for the pass, rush, and blitz. Underestimating the Saints' defense would be a big mistake. 

The Colts should forget about running the ball unless they are deep in Saints territory. The Indianapolis running game sucks. The Colts are only averaging 81 yards a game while the Saints are averaging 132 yards.

For the Saints to Win

I think the Saints could pull off a miracle and actually win. Their QB, Drew Brees, leads the NFL with a 110-passer rating, throwing for 4,388 yards with a league-best of 34 in touchdown passes. But hold up! If Brees gets to cocky and panics, everything the Saints have worked for may all too easily come tumbling down.

Saints RB Reggie Bush

If the Saints' defensive line can open up pockets of running space for Reggie Bush, he will run right through the Colts' defense — leaving them in the dust.

Both teams' defenses are forces to be reckoned with. I'm predicting this battle on the Miami gridiron will be something else, and the Title? Totally up for grabs.
