Bio:
Marcela Adeze Okeke is a Chicago artist and organizer whose creative practice centers themes of rest, connection and care in relation to their multifaceted identity and community. A self taught artist, Okeke began as an acrylic and oil painter and has since developed a multidisciplinary practice that includes indigo dyeing, fishnet knotting and puppet making. Recognizing the radical capacities of artmaking, Okeke proudly works with Red Line Service — a community of artists who advocate for the human right to housing.
