Calling All Bi-Lingual Performers, Velvetpark Reading Series is back for fall!

This is an open call for Readers/Performers in any language; broadly understood and including invented languages, sign language, body language and any code/means of communicating you can think of beyond standard verbal English. Bilingual and multilingual readings/performances are especially welcome. All formats and genres are accepted, including poetry, performance, prose, fiction and non-fiction, works in progress and anything in between.

On September 25th, the Velvetpark Reading Series is presenting “Speaking in Tongues,” curated by artist Sophia Varino, is a multilingual reading to celebrate the staggering number of languages spoken in NYC everyday, and the diverse cultural backgrounds of its many communities.
