The ever ambitions and productive Canadian artist, Elisha Lim, is at it again—and in more than enough time for the new year.
The ever ambitions and productive Canadian artist, Elisha Lim, is at it again—and in more than enough time for the new year. Lim has just finished production on her illustrated queer power love and acceptance 2013 calendar, Queer Family Wisdom.
Lim first gained recognition with her 100 Butches project an illustrated memoir (with a forward by Alison Bechdel), which consists of pen and ink illustrations accompanied by Lim’s own stream of consciousness queer narrative. Since then Lim has had her “stuff taught by a Stanford professor in his class,” among other note worthy accomplishments.
Following in the footsteps of 100 Butches, Queer Family Wisdom calendar consists of 12 portraits along with a essay. With themes like “We Have Predecessors,” “Family tree”, “Friends, Care for Each other”, Lim has intended for this calendar to give support and strength to those facing queer and racial adversity in their lives.
Lim’s calendar project is available now on Etsy.
