Visit artist, Carmen McLeod, in her studio on Grand Ave in Clinton Hill for Go Brooklyn’s upcoming open studio event. Last year Carmen enjoyed her first New York solo show, at CRG, aptly titled “Open Structure.” McLeod’s work is a exploration of the artists’ “process.” Deconstructed frames, assembled and found objects positioned next to representational and abstracted paintings making the artist’s creative process, transparent.
Carmen has been very vocal about her marriage to partner, artist, Mikalene Thomas a refreshing generation of out artists who make no apology for their queerness in the mainstream art world.
