In 2025 we were honored to have two visual artists in residence! Our first resident was Kim Salac. It
was a joy to spend an afternoon with Kim a few months ago as they talked about analog filmmaking,
projects worked on during the residency, and their connections with their works. Below is our interview with Kim.
Kim is a Brooklyn-based queer Filipino American filmmaker who spent their childhood in Singapore
and their adolencence in Virginia. They hold a BA in film and new media from the university from
Virginia.
Lastly, we are pleased to feature Kim’s film that they made during their time at the residence titled Is Your Daughter Safe? (2026)
