“Judgment Day: Fashioning Masculinities” is a coffee table style book celebrating female, trans and left of center masculinities compiled and edited by writer/artist Tania Hammidi. (Fittingly I’m posting this for all you following the butch-femme continuum post, enticed by those who fall on the 3 – 1 scale.)

Hammidi teaches a course at California College of Art SF called “Alternative Bodies: Art/Design”, in which she explores clothing/fashion, sexuality and the body. Hammidi, a performance artist, has also curated several butch fashion shows over the years. This book brings both theoretical and creative expression together in an excellent portrayal of what’s happening in “butch” fashion/s.

Photography by Lola Flash, Love Alba and Leon Mostovoy with essays by Cambell X, Schquay Brignac, and a forward by yours truly, all contribute to these facets of queer masculitnities. Say hey to the new pluralities on our queer block.

In the great tradition of DIY, “Judgment Day: Fashioning Masculitnies” is self-published and can be purchased online through Blurb.
