Last week guest curator Ben Nadler presented a diverse and intriguing group of musicians and writers and musician writers for Vp’s 2nd Reading. Thanks to everyone who came out to listen…

… and to those who performed. Here is a little recape of the evening.
Ben introduces the talent,
beginning with Josh Gardener reading a piece about coming of age, with AIDS.
Karen Tong reading from a short story (that we hope she works into a novel) about a junk yard in Philly and bike culture.
Book store owner, Corey Eastwood, reads from an essay about the grueling nature of a nature trek with his father.
Dandelion Fiction’s out-of-the-box, handmade instruments—both illuminating and confounding—delighted the audience. Here he sounds checks one of his instruments, a match box and electronic gadget…
…and the lit candle burning on a circuit board played the last tune of the night.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Velvetpark’s Reading series coming up in June.
