In keeping with this theme of youths taking the initiative on bullying check out what’s happening in Seattle. On the heels of an award winning documentary, 26 queer Seattle youths have launched an initiative to reteaching gender & sexuality in schools, health care centers and juvenile probation institutions.
Their 34 min documentary “PUT THIS ON THE {MAP}” is a series of first person accounts in which queers youths evaluate their schools, families, and communities. The film won the Audience Award for BEST LOCAL FILM at the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, OFFICIAL SELECTION at Frameline34 — San Francisco’s International LGBT Film Festival, and the OFFICIAL SELECTION at Tampa’s International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
