Last week the Prof, Diana and I went to the Whitney Museum’s Biennial. As a part of this year’s exhibition the Museum stayed open for 72 hours straight, so we high tailed it into town at 11 p.m. when admission was “pay what you will.”
The Biennial is a two year survey of the what’s what and who’s who of the art world. Critics have panned every single Whitney since the dawn of time. The show is like fated to be criticized each bi-year no matter who or what is shown.
This s a really brief summery of what we saw. Our highlights included; Edgar Cleijne and Ellen Gallagher’s BETTER DIMENSION, Kate Gilmore’s Standing Here, and Dawn Clemment’s Mrs. Jessica Drummond’s (‘My Reputation,’ 1946).
