It was quite a night to have ended our summer series on, earlier that day DOMA and Prop 8 had been struck down. The reading series will be taking July/Aug off and will resume again in September. So stay tuned to this space, as the website never shuts down.

Here are the highlights from “Transportation”. First, you, the awesome crowd.

Our curator, the charming, Anne-E Wood who culled together the authors under the theme of “Transportation.”

Emerging talent, Justine Anastasia Haus opened the evening.

Katina Douveas, regaled us with poetry about getting in and around the ‘hood.

T Kira Madden reads a coming of age story full of sexual exploration and other adventures.

Veteran writer, Matthew Clark Davison, reads a chapter from a work revisiting memories of brotherhood and childhood.

Bix Gabriel recounts life as a young Muslim girl in India growing up with an unfaithful father.

And the irrepresible Harvey Katz closes with a fear of flying and unexpected cabin humor.
